My call sign is PA1HD. I am an active HF DX operator with a strong focus on the lower bands. My preferred mode is Phone, followed by FT8, FT4 and increasingly CW.

I operate from a small village in the eastern Netherlands with very low noise levels. The soil consists of ancient soil (oergrond), providing excellent conductivity for vertical antennas, almost comparable to seawater.

My favorite band is the 80-meter band during summer, when it is surprisingly quiet and offers outstanding DX opportunities.

Excellent soil + vertical antennas + extensive grounding = DX results
